Andrey Lipatov is a self-taught artist. He was born in 1960 in a military family in the town of Kolomna, located near Moscow,  Russia.  Since 1966 he has been living in Kirovograd, the Ukraine. Andrey earned a degree in engineering and began his professional career as a construction design engineer for a company that produced hydro-pumps. But in 1993 he left his engineer position and made painting his full-time commitment.  Andrey is a member of the Ukrainian Association of Folk Art since1998.
